- Conflicts and Disasters
Umm Ayman is from the city of Taiz, in South-West Yemen. She carries her child Ayman as she searches Taiz’s cafes and restaurants for leftovers to feed her children.
People in Taiz city, in the front line of the conflict, told Oxfam, in February 2016, that there were no vegetables or infant formula milk available in the market, and reported that in some areas food prices have increased by 200 percent. Many said that they eat only one meal per day to leave enough food for their children. Some said they went without food for 36 hours during times of intense conflict.

Take action!
The conflict that broke out in Yemen in March 2015 has been putting basic necessities such as food and water out of reach for thousands of Yemenis. Escalating conflict in the country is making a dire humanitarian situation worse. We must do all we can to push for a permanent and immediate ceasefire. Sign Oxfam’s petition and urge world leaders to do all they can for the people in Yemen: https://act.oxfam.org/international/yemen-crisis
